There’s a mean streak of Joe Dante’s Gremlins running through this deliriously entertaining festive frightener about an American family who inherit their uncle’s house in a remote region of Norway. However, their dream of a fresh start is shattered by the discovery of some former tenants who are defiantly staying put – a gang of very unwelcoming ancient barn elves.
With a game cast led by Freaks & Geeks/Silicon Valley’s Martin Starr, this 1980s-style seasonal treat feels like an unofficial horror-comedy sequel to National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation that we never knew we needed!
