This heartbreaking story reveals the personal tribulations of one ‘illegal’ Mexican migrant to the U.S. and equally serves as an indictment of American policies towards them. At 17, Rosa migrated illegally to Texas where she managed to find work, marry and start a family. In 2003, she was arrested on suspicion of murder. The film follows the legal process, from trial to conviction and imprisonment where a pregnant Rosa gave birth to a child.
