The first feature by Bollaín since TE DOY MIS OJOS, MATHARIS is the engaging story of three women private eyes who juggle demanding jobs with their domestic lives. Eva (Nimri) has just returned to work following maternity leave and soon finds herself bringing work home (in more ways than one). Ines (Vasquez) is single and work-obsessed, but her latest job makes her question her commitment. Carmen (Gonzalez) is the oldest and her current assignment causes her to take a hard look at her life. Bollaín deftly interweaves the personal and the political as she explores gender relations at home and in the workplace.
Nominated for 6 Goyas, including Best Director.
