From nearly 1,400 submissions, MAF selected the best animated short films from around the world to play in competition at Manchester Animation Festival 2019. These superbly crafted short films invite the audience to indulge in animation as they demonstrate the remarkable potential of the short form.
This selection is a diverse range of themes and styles from a violent look at dysfunctional family environments, to a stylistic look at a grieving husband, a bear unable to sleep and many more.
