Like Father, Like Son

Directed by Hirokazu Kore-Eda

Acclaimed Japanese director Kore-eda (Nobody Knows, I Wish) continues to explore the complexities of contemporary family life with this tale of a couple thrown into torment after receiving some unexpected news.

Ryota’s hard work has earned him everything he has, and he believes that nothing can stop him from pursuing the perfect life. Then one day, he and his wife Midori get an unexpected phone call from the hospital. Their six-year-old son, Keita, is not their biological son after all; he was swapped at birth. Following official recommendations Ryota and Midori swap sons with the family who have been caring for their biological son for the past six years.
