La Pasión de Michelangelo

Set in 1983, during a period of economic crisis and social unrest under the Pinochet dictatorship, Larraín’s political drama tells the tale of 14-year-old Miguel Angel, thrust into the limelight by his alleged direct communication with the Virgin Mary. In a fragile and conflicted country, everyone is out to glean some benefit from this ‘miracle’, as the vulnerable boy at the centre of the storm is raised ever higher before the inevitable fall.
