La Boda de Rosa

Directed by Icíar Bollaín

In the sun-drenched city of Valencia, wardrobe assistant Rosa is run ragged by her hectic job and heavily reliant family – her brother Armando is close to divorce, her sister Violeta has work problems, her widowed father Antonio longs for company, and her daughter Lidia is struggling with new motherhood. Even her partner Rafa offers little support, as he is busy with his restaurant.

On the verge of turning 45 and feeling totally overwhelmed, Rosa vows to shake up her humdrum life and follow her own dreams for once. Escaping the city to her peaceful hometown of Benicàssim, she finds a spark of joy through creativity as she brings her beautiful vision to life. But her family aren’t too far behind…
