Junkhearts

Directed by Tinge Krishnan

Our regular showcase of new British talent returns with a tense psychological thriller from BAFTA award-winner Tinge Krishnan.  A striking example of British filmmaking at its most stylish and compelling, Junkhearts is set in inner-city London and tells the emotional story of Frank (Eddie Marsan) – a former soldier whose disturbing memories of an unspeakable past leaves him vulnerable to exploitation. Frank leads a solitary existence, until a chance encounter with Lynette, a young vulnerable runaway trapped in a streetwise shell. The pair’s relationship soon blossoms into an unlikely friendship until the appearance of Lynette’s psychotic boyfriend Danny, played by rising star Tom Sturridge, and it soon becomes apparent that things are going to get a lot worse before they get better…

We are pleased to welcome Junkhearts director Tinge Krishnan for a post-screening Q&A.
