In Takahide Hori’s one-of-a-kind labour of love – a stop motion sci-fi created over the course of 7 years, with the director taking on multiple roles – mankind has attained longevity through gene manipulation, but finds itself on the road to extinction when the species loses the ability to reproduce. Discovering that a clone civilisation, long since banished to a terrifying underworld, may have become fertile, the government sends a research party to carry out an ecological study with the hope of securing humanity’s future.
