I’ve Loved You So Long

Directed by Philippe Claudel

For 15 years, Juliette has had no contact with the family who rejected her. Despite their enforced separation, Juliette is welcomed into her younger sister Léa’s family home to live with her husband and young children. The two women attempt to rekindle their relationship as Juliette struggles to reintegrate into society and family life following 15 years in prison.
Novelist Claudel’s first foray into directing is a tour de force, examining secrets, isolation and confinement in many forms to impressive effect. Outstanding performances from Kristin Scott Thomas and Elsa Zylberstein present an admirable exploration of female strength and solidarity.
