Based on the novel by the director’s brother Miguel, this beautifully shot, stylish film noir is set in Cuba of 1958 where Martín (Fernández) arrives after spending 10 years in a Spanish jail for a robbery. He’s searching for his girlfriend and ideological partner; she’d made off with the loot. After 10 years, it’s not easy finding Julia (Gil) – nor the money. Habana is full of gangsters and fortune hunters – and revolution is in the air.
We hope to welcome back director ¡Viva! 1996 guest, Mariano Barroso.
