The closing film of Cannes 2005’s Un Certain Regard, HABANA BLUES is the second film from the director of SOLAS. A lively musical journey through the streets and clubs of Habana that’s a million miles (and years) away from BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB, it follows two young musicians, Tito (Sanmartín) and Ruy (Yoel), as they struggle to succeed – or even survive – through their music. Ruy lives with his gran (Marabal), a famed Cuban singer, Tito with the almost-estranged mother of his two kids. The arrival of two Spanish music producers seeking talent stirs things up in the tight community of young musicians. But at what cost? Nominated for 4 Goyas, including Best Director.
We hope to welcome director Benito Zambrano and actor Roberto Sanmartín.
