Gallants

Directed by Derek Kwok & Clement Cheng

A cast of Hong Kong veterans gather, including the great producer-actor-musician Teddy Robin, for this entertaining kung-fu comedy and tale of respecting ones elders. Weedy and bullied Cheung is dispatched to acquire the land rights to a ramshackle teashop in the middle of nowhere. When he gets there he finds much more than he expected. Gallants is a lovingly nostalgic and funny film that in itself shows suitable respect for its cast of once famous Hong Kong martial arts actors and the kung fu genre. Winner of Best Film and Best Supporting Actor (Teddy Robin) awards at the Hong Kong Film Awards 2011.

We are pleased to welcome Gallants co-director Derek Kwok for a post-screening Q&A.
