Working outside of his native U.S., Ira Sachs (Little Men) recalls some of his repertory players (Tomei, Kinnear) for the tale of Frankie (Huppert), a famous French actress who, having learned that she only has a few months to live, gathers her fractured network of friends and family together for one final holiday in Sintra, Portugal.
Sachs is a deft observer of the bumps in the road that affect relationships between friends, family and lovers and he is on characteristically good form here.
