With her husband off at war, Marmee March is left alone to raise their four daughters: her Little Women. There is the spirited Jo; conservative Meg; fragile Beth; and romantic Amy – all living under the watchful guidance of Marmee and their Aunt March.
As the years pass, the March sisters share some of the most cherished and painful memories of growing up – from seeking their own sense of independence to discovering first loves and facing-up to matters of personal morality.
