Shot over a period of five years in rural Norfolk, this potent film from Michael Winterbottom (The Trip, 24 Hour Party People, A Cock and Bull Story) is a story of a family apart and the celebration of the small pleasures of everyday life. John Simm (Life On Mars, Doctor Who) plays father Ian who is serving time in prison, leaving Karen (Shirley Henderson – Harry Potter, Meek’s Cutoff) to bring up their family of four children by herself.
Everyday is essential viewing for Winterbottom fans and is another example of the director’s challenging and ambitious filmmaking.
