Two more of Allen’s highly charged political dramas. The former a BBC Play for Today directed by Loach that was an immediate response to the Pilkington Glass strike that took place in St. Helens in 1970 (the action is moved to Stoke). The latter, another fiercely political drama, is a rarely seen collaboration between Allen and director Leslie Woodhead for Granada television.
