A full-blooded and fabulously entertaining Scream-style slasher, director Clare Cooney’s debut revitalises the genre with LGBTQ+ themes, a diverse cast of characters and a whipsmart narrative that demands you keep up. After gay Mexican student Javier – cocksure but still an outsider – is violently bullied, he finds himself with psychic powers that may help him identify a serial killer. The twists and turns come thick and fast – this is a horror-mystery that is genuinely fun to figure out, terrifically cast with young actors who are a delight to hang out with amidst the murder and mayhem.
