In his imaginative re-working of the trusty vampire genre, del Toro depicts an elderly antiques dealer who discovers a strange artefact hidden by an alchemist centuries ago. Soon the old man finds his body changing and his thirst for blood increasing as he struggles to hold onto his humanity and those he loves.
