It is the year 2027 – the world’s youngest citizen has just died at 18, societal collapse and terrorism are rife and humans are facing the likelihood of extinction. The UK government decides to persecute a seemingly endless wave of illegal immigrant refugees and it’s in the midst of this chaos that former activist Theo Faron (Clive Owen) agrees to help transport Kee, a miraculously pregnant African refugee, to a sanctuary where her child’s birth may help scientists save the future of humankind. Nominated for three Oscar awards and winner of two BAFTAs, Best Cinematography and Best Production Design.
