Che: Part Two

Directed by Steven Soderbergh

This second episode in Steven Soderbergh’s epic portrayal of icon and ideologue Che Guevara documents his final battles and tragic demise. Having defeated dictator Batista in Cuba, left-wing guerilla Che Guevara turns his revolutionary zeal to Bolivia, entering the country incognito to lead a band of peasants in a formidable and bloody struggle. Benicio del Toro inhabits his character in another stunning performance as Che.

Review

“CHE is a work of grand ambition. CHE looks dazzling, whether the camera is weaving through a battle or trying to bore into Che’s haunted soul. Del Toro stands up to Soderbergh’s relentless scrutiny. As for the movie, it’s a reward to audiences eager to break from the play-it-safe pack.” Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
