Brothers and Sisters

Directed by Thomas Arslan

BROTHERS AND SISTERS offers a microcosmic view of the relations between Germans and Turkish immigrants in its story of three siblings who live with their German mother and Turkish father in Berlin. Each of the three chooses to define their identity differently, especially in relation to the two heritages and cultures of their household. Told with sensitivity and humour, the story begins when the eldest son receives his draft notice for the Turkish army. Screening courtesy of Trans-Film
