It’s 1847 and Ireland is in the grip of the Great Famine. Feeney, a hardened Irish Ranger who has been fighting for the British Army, abandons his post to return home and is horrified at the hopeless destruction that has brutalised his people. With little else to live for, he sets a destructive path to avenge his family.
This screening will be introduced by Sorcha Ní Fhlainn, Senior Lecturer in Film Studies and American Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The film will also be followed by HOME’s first ever pop up Gaeltacht, a free and informal event where you can experience more of the Irish language.
