Archangel

Directed by Guy Maddin

At the end of the Great War, a one-legged Canadian soldier in the northern Russian city of Archangel falls for a married woman who resembles his dead fiancée. She, her husband and the lieutenant all suffer from amnesia, making meaningful communication impossible in this German Expressionist-flavoured anti-war parable, complete with intertitles, and early acting styles.
