Apocalypse Now Redux

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola

The hottest ticket at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival was not one of the many acclaimed new films from around the globe, but a 20-something Hollywood classic about Vietnam whose lead actor had suffered a heart attack and whose director nearly lost his mind and soon after lost his studio. The Coppola-restored version of APOCALYPSE NOW clocks in 50 minutes longer than the original release. Unlike some recent ‘restored’versions (think THE EXORCIST) this offers an opportunity to truly view anew an old favourite.
