The latest madcap comedy from the filmmaking duo Asier Altuna and Telmo Esnal revisits a small town in the Basque Country, where Patrizio Extebeste has enjoyed the position of mayor for many years and has taken full advantage of the perks and privileges this affords him and his business dealings. It looks like the party’s over when waves of corruption scandals engulf nearby towns, forcing Patrizio to step down before he’s investigated too. Determined not to lose his power over local politics, he names his wife, María Luisa, the town’s first female mayor. But María Luisa has no intention of being her husband’s puppet and quickly sets about changing the way things are run, throwing their marriage into turmoil in the process.
