Ocular Odyssey/ Manchester Deaf Centre & Salford Makers

Following ten weeks of workshops exploring print and visual language, this artwork offers an insight into some of the processes and work created throughout this unique collaboration between young creatives at Manchester Deaf Centre and artists Sally Gilford and Natalie Linney of Salford Makers.

Working in consultation with garment design specialist, Jessie Fewtrill, a collection consisting of over forty items were handmade and shot on location at HOME by photographer Joe Smith.

Salford Makers are a collective of artists, designers, educators and makers based at Islington Mill in Salford. They work individually and collaboratively on a variety of commissions, design projects and product development, workshops and courses. Committed to offering a diverse participatory programme, they are guided by principles of collaboration, inclusivity and well-being.
