Manchester Open Exhibition 2022

Over 400 artworks made by Manchester.

At HOME we believe art is for everyone, and the Manchester Open is a biennial celebration of creativity across Greater Manchester.

The exhibition will be open to the public from Mon 24 Jan – Sun 27 Mar 2022 – booking is required and tickets will be on sale from Fri 14 Jan, 12pm.

If you’re an exhibiting artist, we have sent an email to you including booking details for the artist launch weekend, Fri 21 – Sun 23 Jan.

HOME’s Gallery walls will be filled with work from 400+ Greater Manchester residents, selected by a panel consisting of art experts and community representatives.

With an amazing 2,271 artwork entries, the judging panel was impressed by the range, quality, differing artistic styles, and inspirational work being created across Greater Manchester. That’s why we launched the Manchester Open Exhibition in 2019 – our first major open-entry art show celebrating the creative talent of Greater Manchester residents.

The Manchester Open Awards will also be returning with five artist bursaries of a value of up to £2,000 each.  All five winners will receive a tailored artist development package managed by Castlefield Gallery and HOME to help guide and invest in their practice.

These awards are as follows:

• Granada Foundation Gallery Exhibition
• Castlefield Gallery: Artist Professional Development Award 1
• Castlefield Gallery: Artist Professional Development Award 2
• Castlefield Gallery: Artist Professional Development Award: Aged 50+
• The People’s Choice Award

Vote for your favourite artworks!
The People’s Choice Award is voted for by you, our visitors, during the first five weeks of the exhibition.

Pick up a voting slip from the gallery or ask our gallery staff how you can cast your vote. You must select three favourite works, all of which will receive 1 point. The artist/artwork that receives the most votes will win.
