Designs for Living: Claire Dorsett and Cherry Tenneson

Responding to a trip to Copenhagen, a land of simple and practical yet striking and innovative approaches to design, Claire Dorsett presents a series of new paintings on building materials, challenging what a painting is or could be, and referencing the recent construction and continuing evolution of the HOME building.

Appropriating the graphic design of institutional, corporate signage and advertising, Cherry Tenneson presents a new series of drawings and paintings that function as interventional diagrams and signs throughout the public areas of HOME. These interventions seek to highlight and celebrate the banal, everyday experiences of encountering information in an institutional setting.

These new commissions will feature in and around our Granada Foundation Galleries, poking at the structures, designs and information we navigate daily, which tells us how we should live and what we need.
