Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2007

Bloomberg New Contemporaries is the preeminent annual exhibition for young artists, enabling recent graduates and fine art students from across the UK to gain wider recognition and public audiences. This year’s selectors, artists Michael Landy, Nigel Cooke and New York based curator Linda Norden, have chose 37 of the most promising artists from an initial submission of over 1200 applications.

The wide range of media covered in this year’s show, from painting to sculpture, installation to animation, presents a cross section of some of the most exciting and singular work to come out of current art school practice.

New Contemporaries always provides a great opportunity for the public to see a rich and dynamic selection of work by an emerging generation of artists. As an annual event first established over fifty years ago, New Contemporaries is recognised as the unique platform for new work and many of the UK’s most well known artists, including Damien Hirst and Gillian Wearing first appeared in the show.

The exhibition catalogue is available to buy on line or at the special price of £7.50 in our Gallery Bookshop during the exhibition period.
