Youssef Chahine

A rare opportunity to see two classics of Arab cinema from Youssef Chahine, Egypt’s best-known director and producer. Chahine’s films have gained him critical acclaim and popular support and he was awarded the Cannes lifetime achievement award in 1997.

These screenings will be introduced by Dalia Mostafa, Research Fellow in Modern Arab Cultural History at The University of Manchester.
