Come along and participate in one of our performance workshops led by Interspecies artist Rachel Mayeri, exploring how primates communicate. Through discussion and video clips you will learn about animal behaviour in the wild and in cinema and find out more about primatology. You will get the chance to engage in physical theatre techniques and learn how to improvise movement and social interactions as non-human primates. Artist Rachel Mayeri, works with video and installation and is Associate Professor of Media Studies at Harvey Mudd College, California. Often dealing with the intersection of science, art, and society, Rachel’s previous video work includes Primate Cinema (2007), Soft Science (2004), Stories from the Genome (2003) and Visualising Biospheria (2001).
