This course looks at the new visibility and empowerment that woman have achieved both as social subjects and as a major force in acting, directing, production and screenwriting in post-Franco Spain (1975 – 2004). Looks at filmmakers like Isabel Coixet (MY LIFE WITHOUT ME) and Iciar Bollain (TAKE MY EYES) and also actress such as Penélope Cruz, Victoria Abril and Paz Vega.
