Head down to Tony Wilson Place on First Street as we celebrate the launch of the festival on our special outside ¡Viva! Stage. Dance along to a variety of Latin inspired sounds from local and international artists including Basque native indie rockers Rural Zombies and get involved with the Salsa De Cuba dancers.

This dynamic duo deliver flamenco flavours to punk and pop classics.

Two of Manchesters finest deliver a beautiful set of interpretive folk!
20.30-21.30: DJ Mayeva & Salsa De Cuba
Manchester–based DJ Mayeva is of Peruvian-Spanish and Norwegian-Irish origin. She has been performing at world music events and festivals since 2006. She has appeared at We Face Forward, Exodus Live, FEAST, and Cultural Collage World Music Festival in Manchester and is a regular DJ at Africa Oye in Liverpool. She has also hosted world music stages at Croydon Summer Music Festival, Eurocultured and Harewood Hall in Leeds. Mayeva will be bringing the best sounds of Spanish and Latino music to HOME for the festival. She has run a monthly world music and cultural magazine programme on ALL FM 96.9 Community Radio in Manchester for the last 11 years.

Hailing from the Basque Country, the five young members of this hotly-tipped band are set to get you dancing to the energetic beats of their debut album bat.
