Undercurrents: Exploring Abstract Collage with Gherdai Hassell

Join Gherdai Hassell for an artist talk and collage workshop, as we delve into the vibrant themes explored in her exhibition, "Undercurrents: Colour and the Shifting Self."

We will begin the workshop with an inspiring talk by Gherdai Hassell, offering a unique insights into her practice and the exhibition. Following the talk, we will embark on an engaging abstract collage workshop. Guided by Gherdai Hassell, we will explore various techniques so you can create your own abstract collages inspired by Gherdai’s exhibition.

This workshop is open to all skill levels and backgrounds and no prior experience is necessary. Materials will be provided but if you’d like to bring your own collage materials you’re welcome to bring them. Whether you are a seasoned artist or simply curious about exploring your creative side, this workshop is a place to connect, experiment and play.

Tickets for this workshop are available on a Pay What You Can pricing, with a suggested donation of £10.

Gherdai Hassell is a Bermudian born, China trained, multidisciplinary contemporary artist, and researcher based in Manchester, UK. Her work investigates memory and nostalgia to construct and deconstruct identity.
