Tuesday Talk: Otto Berchem

Berchem’s work scrutinizes Andy Warhol’s dictum ‘In the future everybody will be famous for fifteen minutes’. Through playing with the formats of popular culture, including comics, game shows and reality TV, he explores celebrity, notoriety and the implicit role of the audience.

His work has been exhibited in Gwangju Biennale (2002), and the 9th Istanbul Biennale (2005). He was commissioned by FACT, Liverpool to make Hotel Redux in 2003. He lives in Amsterdam.
