This course focuses on the work of one director. Veering somewhere between the mainstream and the experimental Lynch has consistently made unorthodox and complex films. What makes his films so disturbing, yet so riveting? This course will try to unpick some of the intricate threads that make up the fabric of his work (including the red curtain). We will take a detour into the subconscious in order to find meaning in his dreams and nightmares on screen.
Intermediate level – for those with some prior knowledge of Film Studies.
