The Tebu Project: African Jazz Trio

Tagné’s music is powerful and introspective, blending African, Latin and Caribbean musical influences. Two of the integral members of The Tebu Project first appeared at Manchester Jazz Festival in Afrika Jazz in 2015, and the quartet played as part of the Bridgewater Hall’s A Little Bite Music series in 2017. However, bandleader Tagné Tebu, who is well known for his beautiful jazz compositions, collaborates with many of the North West’s jazz greats and interchanges them as members of his band.

Tagné was born in Douala, Cameroon. A former manager of the Zebson Jazz Academy. As a multi-instrumentalist and composer, he spent several years as a soloist and performer in Cameroon, Germany, Denmark and France.

Catch this dynamic live performance from Tebu with two of his musical collaborators in the Café Bar on HOME’s Ground floor for Horizons Festival.
