Ann Kaplan (Distinguished Professor of English and Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies at Stony Brook University), exploring the academic approaches to Alfonso Cuarón’s 2006 feature Children of Men, considering the film as an example of the sub-genre of science fiction films ‘Futurist Dystopian Cinema’, and in relation to trauma studies and Freud’s theories. Followed by a screening of Children of Men.
