Aaron Dunleavy is a filmmaker from Blackburn, whose award-winning short films explore stories of working-class youth. His latest work, Alfie, The Odd-Job Boy of Clitheroe was produced for BBC Three’s short documentary strand Give Me A Voice. Directed, filmed and edited by Aaron as a one man crew with a Black Magic URSA Mini; the award-winning film gained over 10 million views on Facebook within the first month of being released.
In this talk Aaron will share his experience and learning so far, including how to get the best of your film’s protagonists, the differences between working on your own projects and on commissions, and specific technical advice such as the best way to capture shots and sound.
Expect a highly entertaining evening as well as plenty of tips and time for questions.
