Talk/ A Dying Artist: Illness, Corpses and Materiality

Terminally diseased flesh, dermic maladies, murdered bodies, decapitated organs and paranoiac delusions, become analogues for flickering celluloid, High Definition, sculpture, medium specificity, curation, textuality and the creative impulse.

Artists Ed Atkins and Siôn Parkinson, both contributors to New Contemporaries 2010, discuss their work before inviting a panel of guests to explore notions of materiality in art through their correspondence with dying and dead bodies.
