Study Day: Artists using Film & Video

Thurs 1 or Fri 2 NovemberBoth study days will examine issues and developments in artists using film and video, providing a critical and historical context for the work of artists Susan MacWilliam and Sarah Tipp. Looking at a range of artistic approaches, this is an opportunity to question how we view film within the different contexts of art gallery and cinema and how we differentiate artists’ film from other forms of film-making. Combining slide presentations, gallery-based activities and discussion, the study days will be led by both an artist and cultural historian and provide a useful insight into current practice.Group and individual bookings available for either day phone Kath Welford, Galleries Education Officer on 0161 228 7621Free Admission for teachers.
