This INSET offers GCSE, AS and A2 Spanish language teachers the chance to explore the use of film in Spanish language learning. Responding to the key role given to film in the new exam syllabus for A2 (AQA, WJEC, IB and OCR), the session will focus on Guillermo del Toro’s 2006 film El Laberinto del fauno using the following tools for analysis: Spanish Civil War, the horror film and ‘cine fantástico’, narrative and representation, characters, fantasy and reality, historical memory and stars.
