CP Lee introduces a five week course which examines Manchester’s relationship to music, film and television, tracing the development of Popular Music in the city from the immediate post-war period to the present day and its representation on the screen. From Jazz to Beat Clubs, Punk to House, Manchester has launched a succession of world class artists on highly successful international careers. From Herman and The Hermits, Buzzcocks, The Smiths, Happy Mondays, Oasis and beyond. All have had a love/hate relationship with the screen.
