Our playreading sessions are a fun and informal way to study plays. Parts are shared around as the group read the play and then discuss it. New attendees are always welcome.
For this month’s playreading session we will be reading Iron by Rona Munro.
An intense psychological drama set in a women’s prison, in which a mother and daughter try to break through the barriers of time, memory and punishment that separates them. Rona Munro’s 2002 play investigates the desire to understand what makes seemingly ordinary people commit murder through this fraught reunion between convicted husband-killer Fay Black and her estranged daughter, Josie.
