Playreading/ A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen

Our playreading sessions are a fun and informal way to study plays. Parts are shared around as the group read the play and then discuss it. New attendees are always welcome.

For this month’s playreading session we will be reading A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen.

First staged in 1879, A Doll’s House is one of the most famous plays by Henrik Ibsen. Initially criticized, later acclaimed as one of the first works celebrating the right of women to live their lives to theirfullest in XIX century male-dominated society, its interpretation was later extended to include the right of all individuals to discover who they really are and to become that person.
