Thu 16 Jan, 10:30 – 15:00
Come along to our Film A Level Study Day, led by Maxine Crampton, a film studies teacher with over 20 years experience who has co-authored the forthcoming updated textbook for Eduqas A/AS Level Film Studies, including the chapter on Parasite, has been an examiner for Component 2 of A Level Film Studies and is the Principal Moderator for Component 3 of A Level Film Studies.
This study day will explore representations of gender and social class via a close analysis of the 2019 Academy Award winning Korean film Parasite (Dir, Bong Joon-Ho). Throughout the day we will examine the production, political, cultural and social contexts of the film, looking at ways these affect the film’s aesthetic.
The film will be introduced by Maxine, providing context and an insight into what is being explored in the study session afterwards. The screening will be followed by a lunch break and then an interactive study session. Bring your students along to HOME for a fun day out where they can experience film studies outside of the classroom and in an independent cinema.
Screening: Parasite (15)
