Panel/ Northern Docs Shorts Scheme

Northern Docs is a creative venture which aims to support factual productions from new and emerging talent in the North of England, encouraging more northern voices and perspectives in the documentary genre.

In partnership with the BBC, Northern Docs is offering an amazing commissioning opportunity for two short documentaries: the successful applicants will be offered extensive training, a cash budget of up to 10K and a national broadcaster distribution with BBC Three Online. This is a brilliant opportunity to be bold, ambitious and provocative and to define and redefine BBC3 through ideas, characters and stories.

For this special event, join Filmmaker and Founder of Northern Docs Mike Todd; BBC Three Short Form Commissioning Editor Nasfim Haque; Commissioning Editor for Documentaries at BBC Emily Smith and freelance Director and Producer Nick Mattingly to find out more about Northern Docs and the Short Scheme, including plenty of tips and example on what they are looking for and the selection process.

This is a great opportunity to hear from seasoned documentary makers and commissioners and improve your chance of being shortlisted for this project.
