Thirty years after the film, is Berlin (still) the cultural capital of Europe? Is it (still) about the ‘poor but sexy’? Is there (still) a desire for the experimental? What’s the impact of the city’s history on today’s artists? With Chris Dercon going from Tate Britain to the Volksbühne Theatre, how is the city pushing forward cross art pollination? These questions and others are explored by our panel, which includes the Berlin-based, Turner Prize nominee, Phil Collins, James King, Sales Director at Curzon Artificial Eye and theatre critic Andrew Haydon. The panel will be chaired by lecturer and filmmaker Christiane Hitzemann.
