Film – Origin

The first LiveWire Film Camp took place in August 2006. For one week, 16 young people went to Borwick Hall in Carnforth with a team of professional filmmakers. July 2007 saw the second LiveWire Film Camp, which took place at Lanehead in Coniston and thanks to funding from Mediabox, 23 young people were able to take part! The young filmmakers had complete ownership of the film and they were involved in the entire filmmaking process. They came up with ambitious ideas, shooting scenes using underwater camera equipment and using film cult classics as inspiration.

The theme for the week was sci-fi and two fantastic and very different films were made.

Influenced by John Carpenter’s The Thing, Origin is a short sci-fi film that follows a confused young woman stuck in a vicious cycle of memory loss.
